Between 6 and 10 June 2025, workshops for team members took place in Lesko and Sanok area in south-eastern Poland. Participants were comprised of historians, sociologists, archaeologists and scholars of culture and memory studies. We visited mass grave sites in Lesko, Sanok, Bukowsko, Olszanica, Zasław and Stefkowa. Prior to the workshops, extensive archival research was conducted to gather available sources on the history of the visited sites. The team met with Arkadiusz Komski, a local expert on the history of Sanok’s Jewish community. Historical sources for the aforementioned locations can be found on our map or in the ‘Sources’ tab.
